The Polling Platform is moved forward to distribute weight forward and allows the motor to be raised with no issues. The fuel tank is in the forward compartment for weight distribution.  The aft seat has storage under it. It has 2 large storage compartments in the aft 1 in the forward compartment.

The WASP 178 is designed to run quietly and shallowly, so it is easy to sneak up on the fish. It is perfect for two people to fish the flats Polling or using a trolling motor.  It was designed by the working man for the working man.  It is a local Texas Polling Skiff made in Seadrift, TX, designed for the Texas Coast skinny waters. The WASP was 3 years in development, making changes to have the best Polling Skiff on the Texas Gulf Coast. The WASP has plenty of storage, it’s stealthy, runs quietly, and all features are designed for easy access. The WASP is designed with Style, Comfort, Fuel Capacity, and Performance in mind.

We (Beck & David’s Fiberglass) have been repairing boats for 16 years and have seen what works and what doesn’t, so we have designed the WASP 178 for easy access to everything. No crawling in spaces to gain access to the nuts and bolts because it’s all drilled and tapped in Aqua Steel. All wires are attached with Weld Mount fasteners throughout the he water craft. We designed the WASP with the V in the bow to allow it to break the chop when crossing big water, and no slap when in the shallows.  The tunnel is designed to allow maximum water to the prop while allowing effective running/drifting in the skinny water and ease of turning. The WASP is low sided, so the wind doesn’t catch it when drifting. Every WASP is designed for the Angler.

We wanted the WASP to be user-friendly and that’s what we feel we have accomplished.  We have taken ideas from all the boats and incorporated the best ideas into ours. It is set up with a center console and remote steering. The WASP will perform as well as Hells Bay, Maverick, or Beavertail for a fraction of the cost.
